At Starlight Child Care Centre we strongly believe that it is through play children learn best. We structured our daycare to provide a warm and safe environment with a wide range of materials which allow children to discover, create, explore, make choices and create to their own interests. Educating provides an opportunity for continuous learning and growth. In our competitive society it is important for children to not only receive a solid education, but to work with someone who is aware and sensitive to their individual needs.
We believe children are entitled to environments and opportunities that foster positive growth while being treated with dignity and respect. We recognize that play is a child's response to life and the medium through which he/she learns, and we therefore employ this principle in our day-to-day activities.

I strive to bring to my preschool class a rewarding, hands on learning environment where each child is treated as the wondrous individual that they are. A little historyand Happy Days Playschool began operation in 1975. After moving several times, the school finally settled in 1989 at its current location on the grounds of Mundy Road Elementary School. Considerable time, energy, and funds have been spent over the years on such projects as the outside play structure, storage shed, landscaping and parking lot construction. These projects have improved our school's looks and function. A recent Government Grant has enabled us to renovate and improve the classroom interior. It is a bright, modern, welcoming classroom for the children.

It's an unique program to involve parents & children learning together at the preschool level. Learning through play (especially outdoor in the woods) is the highlight for my child. I attend parent education workshops that constantly help and guide me in my parenting at home and in the preschool. Easter Egg hunt is so much fun - we found this wonderful place through this community event led by the alumni parents! Thanks Ms. Lynda for guiding my child to be creative, confident & active!Read more
