The completion of the redevelopment project has truly made the site a Hawthorne Seniors Care Community, a campus of care offering the following care and service options:Residential Complex Care, Main building - Complex Care Program (75 spaces) Cottages - Dementia Care and Psychogeriatric programs (56 spaces) Adult Day Program (60 weekly spaces) Assisted Living and Supportive Housing (70 suites) Hawthorne Seniors Care Community is a Campus of Care offering a variety of care and services options. This concept envisions a single location where opportunities to access an array of housing, care and service options are provided. This concept maximizes opportunities for older adults to remain living in the same environment and neighbourhood despite changing functional and health status.Throughout the services offered on site the focus on wellness and quality of life is predominate. The various program teams endeavour to offer all possible supports to maximize functional ability and enable residents/tenants to self direct and retain a sense of control in their lives.Foundational to all programs offered on site is an emphasis on a social model of service and care and a sense of home . Resident participation in activities related to the functioning of their home and community is be encouraged and welcomed. As well, residents/tenants are be provided with opportunities to participate in social and recreational activities of their choosing. We strive for strong community partnerships. Our vision is one in which the boundaries between home and community are porous, allowing for a free flow back and forth and reducing the loneliness, boredom and isolation that some experience when the external world is no longer readily available to them.
