As Part of the archdiocese of Winnipeg, Saint John Breboeuf strives to build a church of communion, providing a comprehensive range of spiritual education programs and enrichment opportunities for all.
Our mission is to advance God's Kingdom, cooperating with His restoring work in our hearts, His equipping work in the Church, and His reconciling work in the world West End Christian Community (aka WECC) is a Church in Winnipeg's West End. We meet at 221 Hampton Street, just offPortage - one block west of Berry. We are a non-denominational, charismatic, Bible-believing Christian Church (translation: we love Jesus, follow the Bible, and believe in the Holy Spirit). We meet at 10:00 am for a potluck fellowship brunch, then we have a worship service beginning at 11:00 am.West End Christian Community is led by a team of pastoral leaders, namely Robert Baron, George Balaktsis, Andre Cyr and Vic Geddert. In addition to this pastoral leaders' team, there are many others who serve in various forms of leadership in our Church. The feeling is family, the worship is vibrant and participatory, and the teaching is Bible-based. If you don't already have a Church home, or if you want to learn more Jesus along with us, consider yourself invited
We are formally known as Lutheran Church–Canada Financial Ministries, founded in 1983, better known by our trademark name, Lutheran Foundation Canada. The Foundation was formed to assist the member entities of Synod to manage, conserve, and be responsible for all legacies, bequests, endowments, foundations, annuity gifts, and all other trust funds of Synod. This service extends to all congregations, auxiliaries and service organizations that support the mission and ministry of Lutheran Church Canada. In the early part of this decade, it was decided to merge the District foundations into the Synodical foundation, thereby providing a single point of reference for foundation activity within LCC, improved service to individual members, and significant savings in management due to economies of scale. The Foundation's Board of Directors consists of two appointees from each District, three appointees by the Synod, and two advisory members - the President and Treasurer of Synod. In summary, the Foundation exists to support the various organizations of LCC, by soliciting major gifts for these organizations, primarily as part of an individual's Christian estate plan
