The Insurance Brokers Association of Canada is a federation of 11 provincial and regional associations of property and casualty insurance brokers. Through its member associations, the IBAC represents approximately 36,000 insurance brokers in virtually every community across the country. Similarly, the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba is an organization representing approximately 2,000 broker members from all communities across our province. At this meeting we passed our constitution. On April 23, 2002 we held our first Annual General Assembly and elected our first LRTA Executive. We received our charter at the Annual General Meeting of the Manitoba Teachers' Society on May 23, 2002.The Louis Riel Teachers' Association represents over 1100 members who are employed by the Louis Riel School Division (LRSD). We are the third largest teacher association in the Province of Manitoba. A custodial engineer at Bison Transport in Winnipeg, Johnson works in the shops department, which ensures the safe operating condition of the Bison fleet of 1100 trucks, 4000 trailers and other equipment. On any given day, Johnson may spend his day driving through the city, picking up parts for trucks in the shops, or even picking up their drivers. Johnson may spend his shift cleaning and organizing sections of the shops; as a qualified forklift operator, he might spend most of his time managing the forklift. He has received the company's 'charging ahead' award for his exceptional service.
We are the second largest of 38 Teachers' Associations in Manitoba. We represent over 1500 teachers who work in the RETSD. We have two full time teachers and one full time administrative assistant in our office working on your behalf. Our association is b
