Jamie's lifetime love of dance started at the young age of 3. Since then, she has studied at many studios throughout Southern Ontario, and worked with many talented instructors and choreographers. She is a certified teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and also teaches jazz, tap, lyrical and hip hop. She continues to keep her qualifications up to date by participating in several teaching courses and workshops each year through the RAD.

The School of Dance, Music and Theatre was established as a project of the India Association of Winnipeg in 1980, with a mandate to promote the East Indian visual and performing arts in Manitoba. In 1983, the institution was independently incorporated as the ''INDIA SCHOOL OF DANCE, MUSIC & THEATRE INC.''. In 1986, the School acquired its own studios/offices at 567 St. Mary's Road (Winnipeg Manitoba). From a small beginning of only 25 students, the School now accommodates well over 150. The school provides instruction in Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Hindustani Vocal Music / Harmonium, Flute, Sitar, Tabla and Carnatic Vocal Music

Focus Studio Dance has been in the St.Vital community for over 20 years and is one of Winnipeg's best dance training schools. The school provides dance training for beginners to pre professional, with qualified teachers in all dance disciplines. Our programs are designed for each child to reach their maximum potential, there are recreational classes for students wishing to dance for fun, and Intensive Programs for students wishing to train at a higher level.Class sizes are limited giving your child the attention and training needed to attain their dance goals. All faculty members continue to educate themselves and upgrade their syllabus giving the students new challenges as well as innovative and appropriate choreography.The studio runs from September to June and follows the Winnipeg School Division calendar.
