Russell TreesIn the Beginning:The firm was was originally founded in 1972 by Lawerence Aubin and Harold Russell under the name of Aubin and Russell Ltd. The company grew, and in the mid 1970s, Harold's sons Blair and Don Russell joined the firm. Then in 1988 Russell Trees was born when the Russells purchased Mr. Aubin's shares. Russell Trees Today:Initially focused on custom tree moving in southern Manitob,a the services and products offered have evolved and expanded greatly over the years. We've become an industry leader in the supply and installation of specimen trees, disease and insect control and landscaping design and installation. We have also recently added tree fertilization services, and our consulting businesscontinues to expand.Our goal is to provide top quality services and products to both the residential and commercial landscape markets, backed by our owner/operator expertise and reputation. Russell holds a degree in business administration from the University of North Dakot,a and is a licensed and certified Arborist and Pesticide Applicator.Don Rus

Party Stuff & U-Rent-It can trace its history back to the 1950's when a small party rental store was opened on Corydon Avenue in Winnipeg. It changed hands and locations a few times over the years and in 1982 it was purchased by the Glass family of Winnipeg.At that point, the rental service company occupied 2,200 square feet in a small strip mall on St. James Street, near the old Winnipeg Stadium. In 1985, the company was moved to a 7,500 square foot location on Century Street. In 1986 Sheldon Glass was joined in the business by his wife, Sandy. They were subsequently joined by their sons Bryan, in 1991, and Jonathan, in 1994.The Century Street location underwent a major expansion to 10,700 square feet and 'Party Stuff' was added to the product mix in 1995. In January, 2001, Party Stuff & U-Rent-It moved into their own 22,000 square foot building on Arena Road (now known as Milt Stegall Drive) near the old Winnipeg Stadium.

Welcome to Deer Lodge Community Club!It's been 75 years since we opened our doors to the community. Generations have come to play, meet and celebrate to make DLCC the heart of St. James recreation and community!DLCC is located near the corner of Linwood Street and Bruce Avenue in St James. The Centre has hosted various sports teams over the years, including Hockey, Soccer, Basketball, Baseball and Softball. We have also offered, through co-operation with the different community groups, Brownies, Sparks, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Yog,a Aerobics and Karate.Groups within the community club include the Parent-Child Centred Coalition and the Seniors Group. They are always accepting new members. There's also a church that meets on Sundays and most weekends wedding socials are happening. It's a busy club.We have 2 outdoor rinks and, for those days when you want a great view of the ice, you can watch a hockey game from our mezzanine level.For more information the groups and activities.

Save the date for some of our exciting events like Arbor Day , and jump to our Manitoba Notable Tree Register to explore unique trees right here in our community.Trees Winnipeg (formerly known as The Coalition to Save the Elms), Manitoba Inc. was founded in 1992, and is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to the stewardship of the elm and other trees, forests and the urban environment. Although we are based in Winnipeg, we have members throughout Manitoba.Our organization was originally formed in response to the heightened threat to Winnipeg's extraordinary American elm population by Dutch elm disease. Over time, new threats have placed our urban forest at risk. Trees Winnipeg now works to not only preserve our elm canopy, but to promote species diversity, urban forest research, integrated forest management, and public participation.Together, we can make a difference.We hope you enjoy your visit
