We are a mission diocese within the Anglican Church of Canada. Founded in 1891 as the Diocese of Selkirk, and changed to the Diocese of Yukon in 1907. As a mission diocese, we are members of the Council of the North, which is a grouping of financially assisted dioceses, supported through grants by General Synod and the generosity of donors. We minister with, and among, 13 parishes throughout the communities of Yukon and Northern BC. This includes Old Crow, Keno, Mayo, Dawson City, Pelly Crossing, Haines Junction, Faro, Ross River, Whitehorse, Teslin, Watson Lake, Atlin, Telegraph Creek, Dease Lake, and Fort Nelson. This joint publication between Yukon Housing Corporation and Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada was created to inform owners of home heating fuel oil tanks, about how to keep them safe and to prevent leaks which can have profound environmental impacts and significant costs for clean-up and mitigation. The booklet has value for any property owner with a fuel oil tank including; home owners, commercial operators, First Nation communities and business owners.The Guide to Home Heating Oil Tanks booklet is available through Yukon-based furnace repair firms and heating contractors, fuel oil delivery companies, Yukon Housing Corporation Offices, the Yukon Fire Marshall's and Building Safety's offices and City of Whitehorse Bylaw office. First Nation governments will be receiving copies of the Guide for distribution to their members.
