Switchback Cyclery, opened in June 2013, is a warm and welcoming bike shop aimed at making bike sales and service accessible to anyone. We carry a good range of bikes (including Brodie, Garneau and Breezer) and accessories (including Shimano components, Brooks accessories, Bern helmets, Abus and Kryptonite locks) for the walk-in customer but our approach to service is what makes us stand-out. Rather than hiding our service department out of sight, our bike mechanics work on the floor right in the middle of the shop. This makes it easy for us to talk with you about your ride, what's going wrong, what could be even better, and how you can maintain your bike to minimize unwelcome return visits to ours or any other bike shop. As a program of Sanctuary Ministries and supported by the United Way, Switchback also has a unique focus on providing employment for men and women who have been marginalized and, in many cases, homeless or under-housed.
West Side Cycle caters to "moms and pops" - people who just want to hop on the bike and ride.
We are known for our extensive lines of bike accessories and for our quality repair service. Most new bikes are in the modest $400-$800 price range and are meant for leisurely recreational riding and around-town trips.
