In 1937, I.W. Lockhart founded the Lockhart Funeral Home in Mitchell, Ontario. Since that time, the Lockhart family have been a part of a tradition in Mitchell and area serving families with professional and compassionate care.We are pleased to provide this service to you and the families we serve. Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home – Robinson Chapel is modern and spacious. Our chapel seats 110 guests and the reception room can accommodate up to 200. Both these spaces are ideal for traditional services and Celebrations of Life. Many families choose the lounge for more intimate gatherings. We offer a private visitation room as well. Our building is also wheelchair accessible and equipped with a state-of-the-art audiovisual system to ensure that every guest can see and hear perfectly. We are part of the Arbor Memorial family, a Canadian company with a long-standing tradition of exceptional service. Our caring and compassionate staff are active in the community. Through the Arbor Memorial Foundation, we raise money for local charities every year. Recently, as a gesture of civic pride, the funeral home refurbished the fountain in Wellington Park.
On January 5th, 1960 Mr. Nicholas Friscolanti opened the doors of the Friscolanti Funeral Home at 43 Barton St. E., Hamilton. It was a modest building consisting of two visitation rooms. This new building had replaced three small homes that had occupied the site previously. Nick served the local community with fairness and excellent service. He made himself available 24 hours a day and as his reputation grew, so did the building at 43 Barton St. A second floor was added and other buildings removed to add parking. In 1971 Friscolanti Funeral Home was incorporated as Friscolanti Funeral Chapel Ltd. and held in partnership with the Friscolanti and D'Alessandro families. In recent years the Funeral Home has undergone extensive renovations and added a second generation of the Friscolanti and D'Alessandro family members. We remain a proud family owned business. We are proud of our staff and their diverse talents, abilities and attention to detail, which allow us to best serve your needs.
