Darbar a Persian term from the Mughal Era of India, refers to the place from where Maharajas and Maharanis ruled the people of their land. Indian royalty held courts of justice, made public announcements, and offered common feasts and celebrations from their Darbar.
I am used to the Indian food that is from a little mom and pop shop that is delicious and cheap. This place is delicious, but a little pricier than I am used to. The food is good and the atmosphere is great. The location is fantastic in Old Montreal, we went for a pre dinner stroll to get our appetites up and it was perfect!Read more
A hallmark of Indian cuisine is its reputation for being spicy, this is not to be confused with being hot, as some dishes may be spicy yet at the same time light on the palette. It is the different combination of a handful of spices that produce the most delectable dishes.

ZYKAA Fine Indian Cuisine is a traditional Indian restaurant. ZYKAA means: something that was so good it was amazing. You will enjoy delicious Indian cuisine in this pleasant restaurant. Besides some specialties, all dishes can be prepared to your taste: mild, medium or spicy. Remember that "spicy" does not necessarily mean "spicy" but rather "seasoned with different spices." We hope that your dish will be a delight for your taste buds and you will taste it in good company! If you want something special or if you have questions, do not hesitate to ask. Thank you and hope to see you!
Bravo. Bonne continuité! Vous avez atteint mon cœur dépicurien.Read more

A takeaway goat roti is $9. I do not understand how anyone put $60 per person. If you are eating in, the lunch special of say boneless chicken and a pop, is going to run you about the same. If I eat in at lunch I usually get a boneless chicken roti and a pop and a double and a pop. About $11 plus the tip for excellent service.
This is my absolute favourite restaurant. I can agree that the location is not awesome but the food is wonderfully delicious. And plentiful.Read more

Indian cuisine is a combination of many subtle tastes. Flavours are as varied as is the climate of India, and as exotic as the people of India. Fragrant, pungent and warm spices from the four corners of the country are delicately blended in meticulous proportions to create the dishes we present to you. Each dish will have its own distinctive flavour and aroma which cannot come from any curry powder, but from spices which have to be separately prepared each day fresh for each individual dish. The blending and preparation of spices is a centuries-old craft and indispensable to Indian cuisine.
Overall good taste and good quality food. We order from there every month or so. We even ordered for an office function. Everyone at the office liked it.
Not a gourmet restaurant but very good casual or family place.Read more
Although early Mughals spoke the language have tchaghataï and maintained Turco-Mongol customs, they had essentially been 'persanisés'. So they introduced the Persian literature and culture in India, laying the foundations of Indo-Persian culture.
I have been frequenting the Scarborough location of this restaurant for a few years now, and was excited when they opened a Pickering location, as I work in Scarborough, but live in Whitby. Awesome roti...and a few of my friends from "the islands" agree whole heartedly! The most tender, juicy and tasty chicken roti, you won't be dissappointed! For a quick snack, try the Guyanese patties!Read more
