Part way through the week long ENDURrun 160KM stage race this past summer I started battling back spasms along with the distance. The pain was impairing my breathing and freedom of motion. After each stage, and in the one off day, Dr. Colin worked on my back to ensure I was ready for the next race day. i not only completed my fastest ENDURrun but ended it with a personal best marathon time to finish the week. I have stopped in to this small and un-assuming bar in the bus terminal a few times, as I have a friend who works there. All in all, it's a great place to hang out for a few drinks, watch the game or just unwind after a long day. There are always quite a few friendly "regulars" there, and by the time you leave they will be your new friends! I first expected to see more downtown "riff-raff" hanging out there, but that doesn't seem to be the case at all.
Transfers has a pretty basic menu - sandwiches, pitas, caesar salad, nothing too exciting, but everything I have tried has been exceptionally good and the prices are VERY reasonable! For example, my last visit I had a Gyro pita with fries, and it was huge and delicious and only $5.99! Definitely a good value there...it is also worth mentioning that their fries are fantastic - I do not usually eat fries (don't like them) but these were great! I hear the poutine with real cheese curds is out of this world.
If you find yourself at or near the bus terminal with some time to kill, I would recommend stopping in for a drink or three and some food. The ladies that work there are all very nice (I realise I am a little biased here as one of them is a good friend, but it's true) and the atmosphere is fun and laid-back.
The only drawback is that the only (free) parking is on the street...sometimes there aren't any spots, and even the parking lot you have to pay for is sometimes full as well. Not a problem if you're taking the bus I suppose.

The history of At the Edge of the Quarry and how I got started. As a child I was always building things, fixing things, and using tools with my Papa. I have a lot of memories of my family calling me Joe the Workman. I think that's a big part of the reason why, when I found myself in college for computers, I decided that this wasn't what I wanted for my life. I knew I could do more for myself. More of what I am passionate about. The next semester I was registered at Humber College for Landscape Construction. With the knowledge I obtained from school, I found it easy to find work for the landscaping seasons. I worked for a lot of very talented guys who saw my potential and guided me toward having my own successful business. I started out going door to door with my girlfriend, my mom, my brother, anyone that would help me basically, signing people up for lawn aerations. People in my town, Orangeville, started getting to know my face and eventually I began to hand out flyers door to door. In 2009 registered my business name, bought a truck and started on my new adventure. Things took off right away for me because of the contacts obtained through aerations. It's starting out as a great year so far and I can not wait to see what else is in store.
