Charisma was established in 2001, when we started out as a chicken and pizza restaurant. It is with the support of the Wolseley community that we blossomed into a beautiful East Indian Restaurant. The decor, music and food are a fusion of India that unifies the restaurant in an authentic ambiance giving you a complete dining experience. The very name of the restaurant, CHARISMA , tells you that there is a special power of loyalty to our guests.Think of India and one of the first things that come to mind is the diversity in this vast country. Well, the food in India is also very diverse. Indians take their food very seriously. Cooking is considered an art and it takes time to master this art. Charisma also takes its food seriously and we bring to you our best quality by using only the finest ingredients to give each and every one of our dishes their authentic and unique taste.

It all began with a love of travel and an eye for style. After many inspiring trips in South East Asi,a Afric,a India & Nepal in search of treasures to bring back home, we opened our doors to Sherbrook Street, West Broadway in May of 2001. We import clothing, jewellery, gifts and accessories from around the world, and carry a wide variety of cool locally made jewellery and textiles as well. One of our main focuses as consumers here at home and when buying for the store, is to buy from small businesses and individuals. We believe that ethical business extends much further than just fair trade practices in developing countries, and we strive to be honest, fair and moral in everything we do.Fair trade is a rapidly growing movement committed to paying living wages rather than minimum wages. Since opening for business in 2001, Brave New World has grown in our commitment to globally conscious practices. We are increasingly developing relations with clothing manufacturers practicing fair trade practices in developing countries, using eco friendly fabrics like soy, viscose of bamboo, hemp and organic cotton, vegetable dye, regenerated cotton, oxo-biodegradeable bags, even using wind generated energy

How do I see the University Women's Club? I see three aspects to membership in this Club. The Social aspect is a major way of connecting with women in a positive atmosphere. The Intellectual aspect comes through our conversations, our programs and our Bridge days. The third aspect is advocacy for the betterment of women and girls. As examples, we demonstrate this in our daily attitudes and in our participation in the Winnipeg Council of Women and attendance at the LEAF breakfast every year. Look around. There are connections to be made and to hang on to. As we sing in the Recreational Singing group, 'Make new friends, but keep the old; one is silver and the other gold.'

1Hope Winnipeg represents a group of not-for-profit organizations working together towards a brighter future by connecting with, supporting and empowering the most disenfranchised people in our city.Our five outreach ministries (West Broadway, St. Matthew's-Maryland, Oak Table, North End Stella and Rainbow Ministry) serve those living with addictions, those without a place to call home, or those shunned by others based on race, income and sexual orientation. The need for their presence continues to grow, especially in these times of economic stress.
