We go to the Barley Works on Friday or Saturday nights after nine pm to play trivia. We have samples seveal of their menu offerings and really enjoy the perogies and spinach salad. April is a great bartender and we are never left waiting or wondering if we are being taken care of.
Worth the drive to Waterloo if you like a place to sit and play a bit of interactive trivia. So long as you don't mind that it is mostly a student hangout (and we "old fogies" don't mind at all).

Went on Mothers Day worrying that we wouldn't get a table and wait for hours. The kind hostess mentioned that there was a wait but we were welcome to sit and eat at the bar.
We did and it was one of the best lunch experiences I've ever had. The restaurant was clearly busy, but the bartender made time to take care of us, engage in conversation, and overall ensure that we had a great lunch. He was pretty cute too..;) Everyone was in a great mood, everything was clean, and despite the volume, the staff were awesome.
I look forward to making a repeat visit and sampling other items on the apparently new menu....5 stars.

Personally i found the service to be outstanding, they were constantly serving us and catering to our needs. The food was fast, and delicious i would reccomend the guy ding. Yes the atmosphere is outdated, but they look to be in the process of updating. I would go back in a heart beat! everyone enjoy!
