The restaurant rapidly became a popular favourite for family outings, business lunch meetings, student gatherings, and special occasions. Over the years, Wally and his brother Monty opened other Pancake Houses around the city, and 50+ years later, the Pembina Pancake House is still thriving (arrive early on Sundays to avoid the lines). This spot and two other locations - at the Clarion Hotel across from Polo Park, and at the Forks Market - attract people of all ages. They have also become 'must visit' stops for tourists and transplanted Winnipeggers returning for a visit.Your satisfaction is important to us- as you notice when you sit down and are offered a cup of our specially-blended coffee. I think its time we came clean on something, when we first opened our doors on June 13th, 2008 we did so with honesty and humility. Our menus were small, and great care went into the preparation of each ingredient and item. We did however make a few mistakes; not least of which was pistacititos. Pistacititos was a spelling mistake that was quickly hidden by the explanation that pistacititos are in fact Sicilian pistachios. This is not correct and our sincerest apologies to everyone who tried to explain pistacititos to their neighborhood grocery clerk.
