Naturopathic Medicine is a unique and comprehensive approach to improving health and treating illness. Focusing on prevention, and using natural substances and treatments, naturopathic physicians (ND's) help to support and stimulate the body's ability to heal itself. The primary goal of naturopathic treatment is to address the cause of illness, rather than simply treat or suppress the symptoms. The patient is seen as a whole person and the ND takes the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual elements into account when diagnosing and developing a treatment plan. Dr. Kim was drawn to Naturopathic Medicine because of (1) her philosophy of respect for the patients' innate ability to heal as well as being compassionate for their suffering, (2) integrated approach to treating the patients with truly expansive scope of pratice – nutrition, counseling, manipulation, IV therapies, massage, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, minor surgeries, detoxification, acupuncture, herbal medicine, and now pharmaceutical uses to mention some, and (3) a practice without specialty-boundary where the doctor can treat a patient in all major areas.

The British Columbia Blind Sports and Recreation Association, BCBSRA, was organized in October 1975 in order to send BC athletes to the 1976 National Championships and Selection Trials for the Olympics for the Physically Disabled (now called the Paralympics) in Toronto. The BC Blind Sports and Recreation Association is a not for profit association of individuals who are blind, visually impaired, deaf-blind, or are blind and have additional disabilities; and their families and other supporters.
