I love the store for its quality items AND the people who run it will bend backward to help and find the suitable item. I have told my friends about the store, and they loved it as soon as they tried it. Read more

The Granite Brewery has been brewing fine ales and great food at the corner of Eglinton and Mt. Pleasant for 18 years. Enjoy one of their 10 hand crafted ales brewed on site along with a delicious meal at a great price. The Granite Brewery is an affordable and unique location for group functions from office parties to wedding receptions. They have ample free parking, a rarity in Toronto, several rooms inside and two patios including a private courtyard garden - an oasis in the city. Inside you can relax by the fireplace or watch the game on the big screen in the bar. The chefs at The Granite Brewery will delight every palate with a large and varied menu. Not just a brewery, they have a full liquor and wine selection. Enjoy your next event at The Granite Brewery and create lasting memories.
We've been to the Granite Brewery a number of times as the food is always fantastic with generous portions. In addition to the delicious food, they have a good selection of their own brews. We especially enjoyed their Ringwood, a delightful blonde. There are different atmospheres for different tastes, but at the Granite Brewery they have several to choose from. Two excellent patios, a bar, and a family restaurant area, all designed for comfort. The rear patio looks particularly amazing, but as it was raining, we'll just have to wait until next time to try it out. It should also be noted that the Granite Brewery has free parking with easy access. The Granite Brewery gets our highest recommendation and we will be back soon. Read more
The glow of comfortable tradition warms Allen's. Opened in 1987, the restaurant has achieved near-institutional status, as its bar, featuring 340 whiskies, over 100 VQA wines and 140 beers, and dining room are considered the very best of type. Customers travel from all over Canada, the U. S. and Europe to sample the unique offerings, but a solid core of local regulars maintains a consistent atmosphere of good cheer, conversation and welcome. The menu focuses on Ontario farmed and grown produce, with an urivalled presentation of naturally-raised or organic meats from area farmers. Breed, feed and age of every animal served is included on the menu. The wine cellar, with VQA selections from all regions of Ontario and British Columbia, serves as testament to Allen's commitment to Local Fare. In fine weather, there is no better spot in which to dine al fresco than Allen's backyard, where a dedicated chef cooks to order over charcoal a daily-changing menu of local specialties.
I first visited Allen's back in the 80's, not long after it opened, and I was instantly smitten. So much so, in fact that I moved into the neighbourhood! First I was a regular, then a nuisance, and finally a piece of furniture. I finally moved back to Markham in 1998, and cannot justify going anywhere south of Steeles Avenue without stopping into Allen's for lunch. The food is imaginative, superbly prepared, and so delicious, that even when I'm full, I often look at the menu again, just to see what I'll be ordering on my next visit! And the patio? Don't get me started...... Read more
This stylish Leslieville restaurant and wine bar takes the marriage between food and grape seriously. Every dish here is predicated on a particular wine with which it might be fruitfully paired. On the list, find comfort-food favourites, like roast chicken and flat-iron steak. On-line reviewers rave about the crispy chicken tails. The wine list at this former auto parts warehouse is more robust, spilling over with reds, roses, whites and sparklings, an impressive 40 of which are available by the glass. The décor is pleasingly minimalist, with a long bar, partially open kitchen and spacious dining area. Service is impeccable, and regulars come back for the abundance of happy-hour specials, like on-the-house amuse-bouches and $1 oysters.
