The story of ENGAGED is the story of my 27 years as a professional videographer who started out in 1989 as Alta Resort Productions, shooting tourist ski videos in Banff and the surrounding area; I shot my first wedding film in June of that year and fell in love with the romance of a wedding day. Meanwhile, the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, which hosted a steady stream of high end companies — served as a focal point of my burgeoning corporate business by allowing me access to Fortune 500 companies. Technological advances brought Alta Resort Productions through the late 90?s and into the new millennium. Digital video was the new buzz and I fully immersed myself into combining the features of digital editing along with travel to provide my services globally.Yet distance & four different companies created challenges, and a re-brand under one umbrella was in order… My name is John Thiessen and I’m very proud to own, operate and introduce you to Engaged Films.
