OUR STORY is connected to our city. Just as our communities grew and changed over the years, we adapted and expanded our services to address an ever-growing need for equitable and inclusive access to quality child care. We started in 1991 as a non-profit home child care organization and expanded until today we support more than 750 children from ages 6 months to 12 years through ten Early Learning Child Care Centres and more than 90 Network Child Care-certified Home Child Care program locations throughout Toronto and the GTA.
Bannockburn School has been established in North Toronto as an independent private school for two decades. Occupying a beautiful, brick building in a quiet residential area, the school was created by the need of various families in the community, who sought a nurturing and effective educational environment for their young children.
After teaching elementary school in Toronto for seven years, Leslie opened 5 Sylvan Learning Centres and was the Owner/Director of the North Toronto Sylvan Centre for fifteen years. There, she worked with hundreds of students of all ages, and their parents and teachers, as a specialist in assessment, remediation, reading and math. Leslie has also worked with a psychologist who has developed an effective and motivating reading & math program for preschoolers. Leslie's four children all attended the Nursery and Kindergarten Programs here and she has been back as the Owner/Director since 2006.
The primary purpose of Children's Garden Nursery School is to provide the community with a program that responds to not only the intellectual and physical needs, but also to the emotional and social needs of the developing child. Like flowers in a well-tended garden, our children will be given a special place, within a natural environment, where they will be allowed to grow and blossom at their own individual pace, and where they will be respected for their own unique contribution to the group.
TFS – Canada's International School is a bilingual, coeducational and non-denominational independent school for students from age 2 to university entrance. From our earliest beginnings, we have provided our students with an outstanding educational experience - one that is unmatched in its rigorous and rich international and bilingual curriculum. No prior knowledge of French is required at TFS for students applying up to and including Grade 7. Our highly successful Introductory French Program gives students heightened instruction in the French language, while following the same curricula as their peers.

Parents and students regularly comment on the small-school family feel of this campus while benefitting from the dynamic energy that is possible in a community of over 530 students. This campus offers light and airy classrooms for optimal learning and large spaces for gym, art and play. Entering our buildings, visitors are embraced by the laughter and joy of our students along with the deep sense of trust and comfort parents feel when they drop off their children.
ABC Academy About Us abc Academy first opened its doors at 18 Melrose on March 5, 2007. The centre was founded by Wendy Arnold List, a mum and businesswoman who built abc to have the optimal place to help care for her children. She wanted to create a beautiful facility with nurturing staff and programming focusing on a healthy lifestyle and Kindergarten readiness – but most importantly, she wanted her kids to love it. abc has since expanded to the neighbouring house at 20 Melrose in 2009 and to Davisville Village at 1432 Bayview in September 2011. It continues to offer a warm, nurturing, educational and fun environment for little ones giving parents great peace of mind and kids a great start to school. We are excited to be expanding into the Beach at 1923 Queen St. E. opening September 2013 and to Leaside at 235 McRae Dr. opening September 2014.
