The Altar Servers assist those gathered to celebrate Eucharist by taking responsibility for tasks that enable a reverent and orderly unfolding of the liturgy. Their presence is meant to add to the sacredness of the Mass and help the congregation enter into the most profound prayer of the Church.

The cross was an instrument of punishment and suffering. Christ transformed it into a symbol of resurrection, courage, love and victory over all that is evil in our world. When we gaze at the cross of Christ today, may our lives also be transformed as we seek a deeper relationship with him and strive to serve those in need in our world.
