Since incorporating on December 29th 1986, Work of Art Woodworking has been providing discriminating clients with finely crafted cabinetry. Proprietor Art McConville, had been apprenticing under the watchful eye of master carpenter and father, Frank McConville as a child. The passing on of his skills in furniture design, joinery and wood carving came naturally in his position of Cabinet Making Instructor at a technical school in Milton, Ontario. Migrating through four shops as the business expanded Work of Art's studio is now located on the scenic Niagara Escarpment in Limehouse, Ontario.
My choice to have a career in the construction industry started when I was quite young. I grew up surrounded by 2 x 4's, hard hats and all kinds of construction equipment and materials. Since my dad was a contractor, draftsman and cabinet maker, it just seemed natural to me that I would, at some point in my life, be a part of this industry. I loved to watch my father work, especially when he was drafting up new plans. When he was out working on a job site, I would go into his office and pretend to design spaces. So, from pretending to design in my father's office, I have made this dream come true and my passion continues to grow
