We felt that we had the right and responsibility to determine how services would be delivered to our community; as well as participating in the design and delivery of those services. Unfortunately; we are still fighting for this right. Our mandate is to promote the health and well-being of our Aboriginal community by building on the capacity of our community through the provision of culturally sensitive and appropriate programs and services to maintain the family unit by preventing and reducing the number of Aboriginal children coming into care of Children's Services.
