Building Luxury Lifestyle Communities in the Edmonton Area Since 1980!
Metis Child & Family Services Society Edmonton (MCFS) was established in April 1985 by members of the Metis Local 1885 due to concerns with the high number of Metis and First Nations children coming into contact with Children's Services and the manner in which families were dealt with. We felt that we had the right and responsibility to determine how services would be delivered to our community; as well as participating in the design and delivery of those services. Unfortunately; we are still fighting for this right. Our mandate is to promote the health and well-being of our Aboriginal community by building on the capacity of our community through the provision of culturally sensitive and appropriate programs and services to maintain the family unit by preventing and reducing the number of Aboriginal children coming into care of Children's Services.
