The Wah-sa Gallery first began in 1976 at 331 Donald St. in Winnipeg when we purchased the gallery begun by Daphne Odjig and her husband, Chester Beavon. The original owners of the gallery were Janice Cardigan, Arlene Rosine and Gary Scherbain. The Wah-sa Gallery has continued the tradition initiated by Odjig who wished to highlight the works of Canadian Woodland Aboriginal artists. Our main emphasis continues to be the Woodland Tradition, centred in Manitoba and Ontario.
