Steel Kids Childcare Centre is Canada's first pre-planned labour co-operative child care Centre. It opened in the Richmond Hill community in 1991. The non-profit Steel Kids Childcare Centre is sponsored by the Labour Board and the Community of Richmond Hill. The Centre has 104 spaces and a staff responsible for 14 for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, along with before and after school care programs. We also have a full time cook. We are licensed by the Ministry of Education and inspected by York Region Health Services. We service the full community with all abilities welcome. Our focus of education is based on a high scope program to enrich children's learning. Our team of Registered Early Childhood Educators strives to meet the unique needs of the individual child.
