I awoke to a dead battery and was in a hurry. They didn't think they had someone there to go out on the call, but the dispatcher sent one of her son's. 5 minutes later they were at my home in Lanark and got me started. Price was reasonable (under $60/tax in) - emergency service is never cheap, but when they get someone to you in your time of automotive need - well it speaks volumes on how they value customers.

My all time favorite thrift store/ salvage shop. As a cheap-o and a DIY crafter. I love the old home renovation part... essentially people who renovate bring all of the old materials (doors, extra floorboards railing posts, windows, sinks etc. here instead of dumping them. You can buy retro on the cheep. Perfect for DIYers who need random materials but are flexible. Everything is super well priced. My one regret at moving to Ottawa is I'm now farther away from this store! <3

These guys helped my mother empty her house before she moved and she couldn't say enough great things about them. They were fast, honest and helpful. Price was very reasonable compared to a rental and doing it yourself!! Highly recommended!!!

It is like stepping back in time..where else can you order a soup and a half sandwich so that you have room for that delicious butterscotch pie?
The place is extremely clean and the staff is courteous and caring. I try to get there at least once a month...certainly worth the drive from Ottawa!

A company that deserves a 10 out of 5 rating if it were possible. They reviewed and corrected any electrical issues our building had and then followed through with hydro in getting perimeter drawings and sign offs and then ESA approval. They were timely and efficient with the electrical work and unrelenting with the follow up details required to get each stage with hydro and ESA complete. A true delight to work with. Excellent office communication.

My cousin from Holland (owner of a travel agency) wanted a special menu with a capable Chef and a special place to celebrate his 50th Birthday on holiday in Canada. He found it in Slackoni's. The setting on the water was intimate and relaxed with music supplied by a classical guitarist. This was a multi-course meal and each was delivered with great presentation style and flavour. The group was delighted with anti-pasto dishes of vitello tomatol, smoked salmon, mini portabello mushrooms stuffed with shrimp and a mouth watering caprese salad. Moving inside to a cozy adjoining party room we were treated to a tasty seafood fettuccini pescatore. The main event was elk tenderloin in a maple bbq glaze. And for those who like desert, the ultimate..the zucotto "italian bomb cake" Amazing!
As per the menu, the wine was also chosen to compliment each course. It was a great event and everyone was thrilled. Our european guests, so used to eating in Paris were very impressed! Hats off to Slackoni's staff in delivering the service in keeping with the excellent food. Congratulations to all!

Shelves are always stocked- the staff are friendly- pharmacy staff are cheerful and helpful. There is only one problem - the cashier is often not available - management insists on only one cashier as they want the express machines to be used. Not convenient when I only want a lottery ticket.

This is an amazing dog rescue. They have a very thorough applicant screening, ensuring the dogs go home to the right family. They are very informative and have great communication with you before adopting. From talking to them, you can feel the love they have for all the dogs. We are adopting Mickey on Tuesday and we couldn't be happier to welcome him into our family. We wish there were more rescues like this one. :-)
