Welcome to the Rural Municipality website. The municipality consists of 7 1/2 townships, encompassing 665 square kilometers of land. Last Mountain Lake is to the west and south of the R.M. of McKillop and the boundaries follow along the lake.Agriculture is the predominant land use within the municipality. Agriculture activities include grain and mixed farming.Lakeshore development is also very predominant along Last Mountain Lake and has become the main economic activity within the R.M. These recreational opportunities exist in the form of a provincial park, seasonal resort development, cottages and water and fishing activities.Resort communities consist of nine organized hamlets and eleven unorganized hamlets which include: Collingwood Lakeshore Estates, Maple Grove, Uhl's Bay, Sunset Resort, North Colesdale, South Colesdale, Green Acres, Spring Bay, Gibb's Beach, Belmont Beach, MacPheat Park, Flavel Beach, Mohr's Beach, Shoreline, Clearview, Sorensen Beach, Heritage Valley, Sun Dale Resort, Alta Vista and Shore Acres.The R.M. prides itself on being a progressive, developing community.
