Housed in the historic Dominion Grand Hotel (est. 1899) in Gastown, this pub was renovated in 2007 and retains its original tin-stamped ceilings, exposed brick walls, stained glass windows and railings. The rest of this storied room has been given a grand renovation, including a new sound system and jukebox, classic pub furniture and flatscreen TVs. A long-time favourite Vancouver watering hole, the Lamplighter is the city's busiest pub for good reason: friendly service, honest local pub fare and a large selection of craft beer and cocktails.
The Yaletown Brewing Company is Vancouver's original and best Brewpub. Founded in 1994, just as the former warehouse district of Yaletown was just beginning to emerge as a destination for businesses and residents, the YBC was built with the vision of being a true neighbourhood pub - a welcoming gathering place whether you arrived dressed in a suit or flip-flops. During the intervening years, the neighbourhood has undergone tremendous change, but the Brewing Company has remained Yaletown's premiere destination for superb beers, inspired menus and unpretentious good times. With a 160-seat Restaurant and a lively Pub with TVs, pool tables and a fireplace, the Yaletown Brewing Company has become a one-stop destination for everything from large corporate events to quick after-work beers with the regulars. The huge patios are Yaletown's best spot to sit, eat and take in the neighbourhood atmosphere throughout the spring and summer.
Yaletown Brewing Company was one of the first restaurants involved in the revitalization of Yaletown and the fact that they're still here has got to tell you something. They make good food and, since they are a brew pub, they make great beer. Like all the other Mark James Group restaurants they offer the cheap beer and pizza nights that my family and I enjoy so much but quite often we head here for all the other great items on the menu too! If you can't decide which beer you want to try ask the server for one of their tasting flights where you get four different beers to sample. The location is outstanding and they have a lounge on one side and restaurant on the other so if you just want drinks and appys after work they are a great spot to choose! Last time we were there I had the Jakarta bowl with lamb tenderloin in a soy sauce with peppers and it was outstanding, My folks were with us and they swore by the fish and chips as well. One other cool thing that Yaletown does is if there is a game on at Rogers Arena they offer shuttle service to the game. So go on down to Yaletown Brewing Company and check them out!Read more

Come enjoy a savory creation at Rosie's on Robson. Come sit at the bar with a cocktail. They are open after-hours all week and are conveniently reachable by car.
We ate at Rosie's on Robson while on vacation in Vancouver. We stayed at the Westin a few blocks up the street the location seemed convenient. Rosie's markets itself as a British pub style eatery with a good selection of draught beer. When we got seated at our table, the temperature was very warm. The staff claimed the air conditioning at the maximum level but we found that hard to believe. The decor also appeared to be quite outdated. When our food arrived, the veggie burger was found to be slightly under-cooked. The spring rolls were very good but the portion size was small (2 rolls cut into halves). My bruschetta was very good and the portion was decently sized.
Although the restaurant was not terrible, I would not recommend it due to the quality of the food and the atmosphere.Read more
A nod to both the University of Oxford and British sporting culture, the New Oxford sits proudly on the edge of Yaletown, an ideal addition to Vancouver's notoriously trendy neighbourhood. The room runs the width of the entire city block, and reveals rustic gray millwork, classic pub-style furniture and black & white photos with a pop art treatment. Open seven days a week, the New Oxford serves original and classic cocktails, craft beer and local, organic pub fare, with a busy brunch weekends and holidays.
The wildly popular Library Square Public House is just two blocks from Rogers Arena and BC Place, and across the street from the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. Library Square is busy day and night, from business lunches to pre- and post-event crowds. Enjoy modern, local and organic pub fare, a huge selection of craft and domestic beer, and custom seasonal cocktails.
The greatest asset of the Dockside Restaurant and Brewing Company -- besides its friendly and well-trained staff -- is its fabulous location. Nestled in the boutique Granville Island Hotel, Dockside combines the two features Vancouver is most famous for: stunning views and spectacular food. Chef Simon McNeil combines fresh seasonal ingredients, on his seafood focused menu, with an uncomplicated execution that is sure to astound the most discerning food critic. Winemaker and Master Brewer Peter Haupenthal, boasting more than 23 years of experience, offers eight unique hand-crafted beers. Wine lovers will be equally content gazing at the Vancouver cityscape and majestic North Shore mountains over the carefully selected and well priced 150 bottle wine list. If all that isn't enough, the Golden Plates 2013 Best Patio is sure to entice as it's the perfect spot to eat, drink and visit while the boats go floating by.
We had a lovely table by the window so we had a nice view. Overall ambience is very bright and contemporary. To our benefit the restaurant was not that busy on a weeknight and we parked very close. The service was very good. We enjoyed their daily flatbread special and crab cakes to start. For our mains we went with halibut and osso bucco, both too were very good and cooked just right. And to finish went with a delicious choco molten cake just perfect to share. Read more

We hit Black Forg last night before the Lions game and loved their vibe. The atrium that provides over half of the seating is ideally situated at the foot of Cambie Street to provide views of the North Shore and the workd going by on Water Street. They offer a great selection of draught and bottled beer and offered a take on a Snake Bite that they should put on the menu and call the Black Frog...who knew that adding Ribena would taste so good! The wings that were hotter than hot were exactly as advertised and really tasty! The only concerns we had were with the mains we had. The steak sandwich was a bit tough to chew as a sandwich but went better when I ate it open faced. The curry and chips were kind of bland and would probably be better as an Indian curry than a Thai curry. We will try other items on our next visit. Our concerns on the food aside, we will be back because it was such a great little spot. Head over to the Black Frog next time you're looking for a fun spot to chill!Read more
