This year, Luna Aveda Concept Salon celebrates its 20th anniversary as one of the first green salons, in Canada.Established by Elizabeth Mincey in 1989, Luna Salon's seed birth actually began around her childhood dinner table, where the environmental dangers of pesticide use and conserving fossil fuels were discussed. A love of art, fashion and beauty, led Elizabeth into the salon industry. Fed up with the chemicals in the salon environment, Elizabeth opened Luna. Elizabeth continued on with her Aveda fever and became one of four Canadians selected to Aveda's elite Purefessional program.
