The dance school was established in 1976 by Dolores Kirkwood. Carole and Lindsay Martyn bought the studio in 1990 and have continued providing dance instruction at the high standards set by the founder. In 2004, they received the City of Nanaimo Excellence in Culture Award for the dedicated work they have done with the children in the community and the quality of service they continue to provide. We are proud of the members of our faculty who were once dancers themselves and are now highly qualified teachers, who offer experience and expertise.

Welcome to the Nanaimo Region John Howard Society! We are a non-profit charitable organization operating in the Nanaimo region. For over 50 years, we have provided community based services that promote responsible and accountable behaviours that lead to a safer community. We offer programs that are innovative and recognized for being best practice. The excellence of our Restorative Justice Program has been recognized both nationally and internationally. Our Forensic Housing and Outreach Program received the BC Mental Health and Addiction Services Award of Excellence. In May 2012, the Guthrie Therapeutic Community program was the recipient of the Premier's Award for Innovation.

Vibrant studios has been operating for the past 12 years, focusing on styles of hip hop, hip hop tech, popping, locking, break dance, house, ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz and tap!! We have recreational to performance Levels. We also offer boys only classes. We pride ourselves in offering a safe and friendly environment where we encourage dancers to be their own unique selves :)

To keep pricing competitive, we buy quality products throughout the world and pass our savings on to the customer. The future is very bright for Tower as we are a family owned and operated company. Denis’ three sons Sam, Jim, and Steve currently work in the business and are now focusing their attentions on the specific divisions that suit their talents.
