The Village of Point Edward welcomes you to our vibrant community – a community that is 'progressively independent since 1878'.'The Point', as the village is affectionately called by locals, was established in 1878 as a separate and distinct municipality in the County of Lambton. It is situated along the shores of the St Clair River where the azure blue waters of Lake Huron ends its downstream flow through the Great Lakes System.
We are located on the south end of Lake Huron. We have 380 full members and 200 associate members. The basin has 350 wet wells with a fuel dock with gas and diesel. There is a Snack Bar 'Galley', located at the fuel dock. The club house, where we hold our many social events, has a wet bar and kitchen. The Glencoe and District Curling Club features four sheets of ice. We take pride in the quality of our ice so we ask regular players and visitors to clean their shoes prior to stepping onto the ice surface. We also ask that that you report any ice issues
Located in the town of Glencoe Ontario, the Glencoe & District Historical Society was formed in 1978 and has been an intricate part of the community these many years. The promotion of local history, genealogy, and the preservation of historical documents are among the primary objectives of the society.Formed in April 1978, the Glencoe & District Historical Society was created to promote, encourage and foster the study of local history and genealogy including original research. It is an incorporated non-profit volunteer organization. It is a member of the Ontario Historical Society and the Ontario Genealogical Society.
