Sugar Baking came about accidentally on purpose. I am a twenty-something, self-professed city girl with an affinity for baked goods and all things that are pretty. Having grown up baking with my mom (like many other bakers out there) I remember anticipating the moment that oven door would open and our latest creation would be set on the counter to cool.It was while I was away at university that the idea of Sugar Baking first starting tip toeing its way into my mind. Self taught with a variety of books, I also had the incredible opportunity to intern at The Bonnie Gordon School over the summer of 2009. Here I learned from incredible teachers, like Sarah Bell and Charmaine Baan, and of course Bonnie herself.Starting off taking orders for family & friends, I was completely taken aback by how quickly word of mouth spread. Facebook, Twitter and the shameless promotion from of my friends have been invaluable to making Sugar everything that it is today.This website is run on Shopify, an unbelievable company based in Ottawa and I recently had a chance to do a video with them.
