Since 1897, Carefor Health & Community Services, a registered charity and non for profit organization, has been helping families stay together longer at home by providing home health care and community services. Our services include home care including nursing, personal support services and rehabilitation services; community support services, retirement homes including two retirement homes in Pembroke, a retirement home in Richmond, Ontario for women living with dementia and a Hospice in Cornwall. The founding chapter of the Victorian Order of Nurses, Carefor has been providing care to seniors and people living with disabilities across Eastern Ontario for generations.

With more than 3,000 donation bins and an active home pick-up service in communities across Canada, we collect unwanted gently used clothing and household items to raise much-needed funds for Diabetes Canada. This helps support programs and research on behalf of the 11 million Canadians living with diabetes and pre-diabetes. But, we’re more than just clothing donation collectors. We are an organization of dedicated professionals working with Canadians from coast to coast fighting to End Diabetes through waste diversion. Each year, the program diverts more than 100 million lbs. of clothing and household items from landfill sites across Canada.
