Best auto repair shop experience of our lifetime. When my girlfriend and I drove to Toronto from Montreal to get my braces off as I used to live here, and she to see her grandmother at the hospital we never expected our car to break down. Cameron Young, founder of Cam's Auto Service, has been working in and around cars since he was twelve years old. Working in garages during his youth he picked up the trade and became a mechanic at an unusually young age.In early adulthood, during his time at Speedy Muffler, Cam moved from the shop floor to behind the service counter and quickly advanced to management. His great people skills, relentless work ethic, and passion for the business allowed him to excel. The experiences and knowledge he gained prepared him for what was to come.In 1987 at only twenty five years old, Cam made the leap from employee, to employer. He started a Thruway Muffler at 475 King St. East and became one of the few shops in Toronto's East end. In those times the area was a little rough and mostly industrial. The shop tailored to fleets and work trucks taking on retail clients when they drove up. Truly a muffler shop at that time, general repairs weren't taken on that often, but the shop continued to grow.
