FPS is a psychological practice with a multidisciplinary clinical team. Our practice is oriented to working with people in a holistic manner, addressing core issues related to problematic functioning with a strength-based orientation to facilitate change, personal growth and wellness. FPS offers two clinical streams. FPS Psychological Health Services provides general psychological services attending to an array of personal issues. Areas of specialization include addictions, abuse and trauma, emotion management and relationships. Forensic Psychological Services provides assessment, treatment, consultation and training in areas related to the application of clinical services in legal systems and to individuals who have come in contact with the law and/or demonstrate problematic behaviours that have the potential to bring them in conflict with the law. As a painter started twenty-three years ago, I took the Red River Painting and Decorating course, and started on my merry journey figuring I knew everything about my trade.My first job was at Community Painting and Decorating. The first project was exterior, and the boss told me to start painting the garage. At the end of the day my brush had as much paint on the handle as what was in the cutting pot. The brush had even more paint on it the next day, because it was apparent how useless I was. My boss was an expert in the trade, and an expert in giving a frantic verbal whip-lashing training technique. He was the best, and oh how I loved him!The technique was quickly improving, and I was becoming very neat, and clean at the projects. Some of the homes were so beautiful, and there was an extreme caution to be 100% professional in conduct, and in proper trained principles. The last thing I wanted was to buy a rug with my paint on it, worth more than my truck.
