Claude Gobin began his career in the reinforcing steel business in 1950. He worked for several companies and ran many major projects throughout British Columbia. In 1970 he formed Heritage Steel Ltd., a rebar installation (placing) company. Claude was well known and liked by many customers and as a result this company contracted many small and medium sized projects throughout the lower mainland. In 1983 he invited his son Martin into the business and it was at this time they realized there was a niche to be filled in the fabrication side of the industry.
