Gallery Arcturus is a not-for-profit contemporary exhibition and art education centre located in downtown Toronto. It is funded and operated by The Foundation for the Study of Objective Art, a private charity. The gallery is an oasis of peace in the midst of a busy city. The space has been carefully designed to provide an opportunity for uninterrupted contemplation of visual art without the pressures of commercial galleries and without the admission charges typical of other public galleries. The gallery also provides an outstanding opportunity for contemporary visual artists to display their work without the pressures of commercial considerations. The gallery seeks to exhibit works which engage the viewer’s sensations and feelings in a movement toward self-transcendence. Friendly Entertainment & Promotion Company had its beginning in 1979, when engineer John Quarterly first arrived in Canada and started doing volunteer work for the Canadian Opera Company, as a clown at Toronto's Harbourfront, while adding magic and juggling to routines that developed into The Amazing Dickens, an original and successful magic, mindreading, and clown act, later followed by Friendly the Clown, who specializes in performing for children's parties, parties for grownups, and walkabouts for corporate and retail events.

Since 2002, the museum has been the home to a major collection of artifacts from the 1852 wreck of the Steamer Atlantic near Long Point.
