Manor Road Co-operative Nursery School was established by the Junior League in 1935 as an outdoor play group for children. In 1937, the operation of the school was taken over by the parents, and it became the first co-operative nursery school in Canada. It has continued as the oldest co-operative nursery school at the same location, in the Church of the Transfiguration, located at Manor Road and Redpath Avenue. The school has always been non-profit, self-supporting and non-denominational.
Located in Thornhill, Polka Dot Preschool provides a safe, healthy, nurturing environment for children from 15 months to 5 years of age. Our teachers are certified in Early Childhood Education to provide hands-on, sensory learning and social development.
We had our daughter at Polka Dot Preschool since she was 2.5 years old. They are great with her, she loves going to school everyday. It is play base but she has excel with all her numbers and letters, shapes. We are only pulling her because she is going to start JK, but would definitely enrol our future kids here. Thank you Karine and her staff (Ms.Brittany, Ms. Hani, Ms. Christina, Ms. Angelica, Ms. Mira). My daughter loves her teachers and will miss them dearly.Read more
North Hill Montessori School is a non denominational, co-educational private school offering a stimulating Montessori program to meet the needs of children from ages 1½ to 6. We are committed to offering a quality program to the children of our community.
Open Arms Preschool has felt like home for the past 2 and a half years. My daughter started going there when she was 18 months old and she's been cared for by loving and patient teachers. The facility is clean and organized, and did such a good job maintaining the safety protocol during COVID. The webcam and apps were great communication tools to receive updates and see what the kids are up to. I am so grateful to have found such a warm and caring environment for my daughter!Read more
At. St. Clement’s Early Learning School (SCELS), we believe that the early childhood years should be filled with opportunities for exploration, discovery and vital development. It is a time when a child must discover that learning is worthwhile, exciting, rewarding and fun. As well, this journey of discovery needs to take place in a warm, secure environment which supports children in their academic, social, emotional and physical growth.
Regardless of faith or cultural heritage, all families are welcome in the SCELS community of learners.
It is our objective at SCELS to identify the needs of the children in our programs and to plan for the successful fulfillment of those needs..Our continuing commitment to small class size enables children to make choices, to solve problems and to learn to think independently.
Our seamless blend of free play, academics and a loving, homely environment creates a foundation for lifelong learning. Classes are led by experienced, caring professionals for children of 18 months to 6 years.
