Manor Road Co-operative Nursery School was established by the Junior League in 1935 as an outdoor play group for children. In 1937, the operation of the school was taken over by the parents, and it became the first co-operative nursery school in Canada. It has continued as the oldest co-operative nursery school at the same location, in the Church of the Transfiguration, located at Manor Road and Redpath Avenue. The school has always been non-profit, self-supporting and non-denominational.

Gradale Academy helps to promote social and emotional development while giving an academically enriched program with smaller classes.
