Located right at the main entrance to Granville Island sits the Granville Island Brewery. Due to their popularity I think it has been a long time since this location was their main production facility but that hasn't stopped them from turning this into a unique and fun tourist attraction on the Island. Offering tours daily, you can learn about how their beer is made and more about the history of this unique little piece of brewing history in Vancouver. Granville Island Brewery was one of the first microbreweries in Canada and obviously they did a great job because they started a revolution in the Canadian brewing industry and were even just acquired by Molson Coors earlier this year. After your tour you get to sit and enjoy a sampler tray of 3 different beers. Or, you can just skip the tour and belly up to the bar in the tasting room and try all of their great brews named after Vancouver neighbourhoods and landmarks. Both the Customer Care Rep, Melissa, and the Audiologist, Lindsey, were welcoming and friendly. I could not get my ears tested on my first visit because of impacted wax. They advised me on what to do before getting my ears flushed at a local clinic, and patiently rebooked my appointment. Eventually, I was able to get the tests done and earned 150 AirMiles, too. Each time I was there, I was treated like a valued client. I would definitely recommend NexGen Hearing!

I recently visited this clinic in search of better hearing protection while playing with my band. With 4 guitars, sax, harmonica, bass and drums it can get pretty loud. The trouble is everything I've tried is too muffled and they make it very difficult to sing. Dr Marynewich suggested dB Blockers musicians earplugs by Etymotic Research. They have different filters to suit your situation. They are SO comfortable and work great. She was very helpful and so was her office manager Maria. Recommended

Even though I do a lot of book shopping online these days I still love going to Chapters and browsing the aisles and aisles and aisles of books. This store is great by virtue of its location and the knowledgeable staff who can guide you to almost any title in the store. It is also a great place to while away an afternoon flipping through books you may buy since the staff pretty much leaves you to your own devices if this is what you are choosing to do. They also have a great little gift section for unique and interesting gift items. They used to have a pretty good music section but this is being renovated right now...possibly because they are no longer going to carry music. Head into Chapters at Broadway and Granville and lose yourself in the books!
