For those who have not yet been able to visit the studio, we are a professional dance instruction studio offering lessons in ballet, pointe, modern, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, musical theatre, stretch and strength, Pilates, flamenco, and belly dancing. Our teachers are certified by the Royal Academy of Dance, the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, and/or the British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association. Our studio is located in downtown Nanaimo in a heritage building. We have three large studios including a grand ballroom, a comfortable lobby for our student's parents, many change rooms, and a homework area for our older students. Brenda Kaine has practiced family law since 1981, first in the Lower Mainland and since 2005, on Vancouver Island. In the ‘80s, her work was mostly carried out in Provincial Court where she represented the government in child protection cases, individuals involved in paternity cases and those dealing with extra provincial child support. Since the ‘90s, she has worked in all three levels of the B.C. courts; Provincial , Supreme and the Court of Appeal. Her experience over four decades provides her with a depth of knowledge that benefits her clients who choose to mediate the issues that arise when their spousal relationships break down, as well as those whose issues need to be decided by a Judge. Brenda’s approach to family law problems is to try to solve them without recourse to the courts, but in cases that cannot be settled through mediation, she will unhesitatingly advocate for her clients in the courtroom.

Kirsten J. Madsen has over 30 years of experience in litigation and mediation. Her clients consider her one of British Columbia’s premier practitioners of both family law and collaborative divorce law. Kirsten recognizes that the courtroom is not always the best way to resolve family law issues. As a family law mediator and having appeared as counsel at hundreds of mediations and arbitrations, she understands the value of alternative dispute resolution methods. She has also served as a facilitator for the “Parenting After Separation” course provided by the Ministry of the Attorney General for British Columbia. When issues cannot be resolved through mediation or arbitration, she has the experience to pursue cases through to trial.
