La Belle Province is home to many of Canada's top winter sports vacation destinations. The Laurentians and Eastern Townships have plenty to offer both beginners and discerning ski enthusiasts at the top five ski destinations to check out in Quebec.

Top 5 ski destinations in Quebec

1. Mont Tremblant

Nestled in the Laurentians, Quebec's largest and best-known destination is just a short 90-minute drive north of Montreal. Mont Tremblant's ski village features colourful architecture and  exudes a European ambiance. It offers ski-in / ski-out convenience and some of the best ski facilities in Eastern Canada.

2. Le Massif de Charlevoix

Le Massif is arguably the most scenic resort in eastern Canada, with its views overlooking the St. Lawrence River. Because of this, it enjoys a snowy micro-climate providing favourable conditions throughout winter. With a vertical descent of over 770 metres, it has the longest top to bottom east of the Canadian Rockies.

3. Mont Sainte Anne

Mont Sainte Anne is a 40km drive northeast of Quebec City.  It has an average snowfall of 475cm per year and offers 69 trails with some of the best skiing in the east plus the highest vertical for night skiing in all of Canada. The ski area faces two sides and offers slope side accommodation. Otherwise, it is possible to stay in nearby Quebec City for a more varied range of evening dining and entertainment.

4. Mont Sutton

Mont Sutton is located immediately north of the U.S. border in Quebec's eastern townships. What it lacks in size, it makes up for with its generous snowy, micro-climate that provides an abundance of fresh powder, which can be enjoyed in a number of forested runs. It's a great choice for those who want to escape the crowds and enjoy the mountain to themselves.

5. Owls Head

Owls Head is situated on the shores of Lake Memphremagog, not far from the border of Vermont. Its affordable lift ticket prices, friendly ski instructors, and gentle slopes mean that it's a great choice for beginners and those going on a family ski vacation for the first time. If you want more of a relaxing ski vacation than a hair-raising challenge, Owls Head is the place for you.
