Read more
Caren’s Rosedale is an elegant French Bistro with a relaxed formal atmosphere. Chef David Nganga is at the helm delivering authentic French classics and daily specials with a Parisian influence. Favourite à la carte items from Caren’s Wine and Cheese Bar in Yorkville have migrated to the midtown location, complementing and blending with the new menu. Libations include a notable wine list that pairs with globally inspired cheese plates and charcuterie boards on offer, fresh creations, classic cocktails, as well as an array of bubbles and beer. The chic contemporary setting is perfect for a romantic evening, dinner with your family or a night of cocktails with your friends at the bar. The grand piano and live music add flare and fun to this prime Rosedale location. Larger groups are easily accommodated in the semi-private main floor space. Daily lunch and weekend brunch are quickly becoming a local favorite.
We are primarily a walk-in neighbourhood restaurant, however we do set aside some seating for online reservations for groups of up to 8 people. Reservations are held for 15 minutes and groups of more than four people will be seated once 60 percent their party has arrived. If 6:00 pm is too early for your group, you can walk in without a reservation. We always aim to seat you as soon as possible, however, we can never guarantee how long you may wait for a table. We serve a weekend brunch menu that also includes most of the items on our regular menu. Large groups of up to 13 people can reserve a table at 12 noon or 6:00 pm any day of the week. However, to serve groups of 9 or more quickly and impeccably, we require you choose a Nonna family-style sharing menu prior to your arrival. For groups of more than 13 who want to reserve a table we have two private dining options. Our private Wine Cellar and Rooftop Party Table each seat 20 comfortably.

Made a reservation online, probably a good idea, heard it was a busy spot. We were late for our reservation but they honored it. And it was packed. I had the special, can't remember the type of beef but it was one of the best hamburgers I've ever had, and the poutine was also amazing. My girl had the turkey burger and sweet potato fries and she loved it. We also had the Pickle Fries (good) as a starter and two pints of beer, bill with tip was around $80. Its expensive, but enjoyable and delicious. Read more

High-end, authentic Portuguese cuisine defines this Little Italy treat, where fresh fish and a classy, unpretentious atmosphere are always the catch of the day. The fresh white ricotta-like queijo fresco amuse bouches and warm basket of sliced cornbread with nutty olive oil dip that launch the experience are well appreciated. From there, online reviewers gush about the quality of the seafood here, pausing particularly to wax over the octopus, monkfish and pan-seared skate fish. The wine list has some unique Portuguese selections, and the staff is well versed in their distinctions. Chiado's décor is simple but stylish, with contemporary art lining the walls and minimally adorned tables draped in double linens.
I loved everything about this restaurant! From the valet service at the door, the discreet but highly efficient service, the fresh and delicious seafood and wonderfully light Molotov dessert, and the extensive list of Portuguese wines. The atmosphere is lively and sophisticated. Nothing dull here. Yes, this has got to be the best Portuguese restaurant in Toronto! Would definitely recommend for special occasions or romantic dinners. You might come to the Oxley Public House for the Welsh rarebit and Scotch eggs, but you'll stay for the taste of the Empire you'll enjoy inside its woody, upholstered interior. So authentically British-pub is the experience at this quaint Yorkville tavern that one might imagine himself stumbling out of it onto an English high street. Inside, mirrors line one wall (behind the bar) and a vast Victorian hunting scene adorns another. A stately fireplace with an old clock on its mantel marks the passage of good times spent here, noshing on fish pie from mismatched china and knocking the head off your Guinness.
The recently renovated, three-level club includes a performance and dining area, wine bar, private event space and expansive rooftop patio. The open-concept design ensures guests on the second floor balcony have a perfect view of the stage, which features a magnificent Red Pop Steinway piano (the only one of its' kind in Canada). The warm and inviting space serves as an intimate setting for authentic, live jazz performances by some of the world's finest jazz musicians, and will focus on promoting Toronto's own Jazz artists. The space creates a comfortable atmosphere for quality modern bistro dining.
