4 creative dip ideas to pair with apples

1. Salted caramel dip

  • Everyone loves a caramel apple. Make your own salted caramel dip this year. To make a salted caramel dip, mix a cup of sugar, one tablespoon of corn syrup and 1/4 cup of water in a pot.
  • Turn the heat onto medium, and watch until the mixture bubbles.
  • Let the mixture boil until it turns brown, then remove it from the heat and slowly pour 1/3 cup of heavy cream in (be careful with this step).
  • Then, stir with a rubber spatula, add in two tablespoons of butter and a tablespoon of sea salt. Then, you can use this a delicious sweet addition to your apples.

2. Honey lime dip

  • One way to offset the sweetness of a sweet apple is to pair it with something tangy. For a healthy, tangy dip, mix two cups of plain Greek yogurt, 1/3 cup of honey and two two tablespoons of lime juice.
  • Then, zest half of a lime over the top of the dip and serve with apples.

3. Peanut butter dip

  • Some people eat peanut butter and apples on a sandwich, but you can enjoy the combination without the bread.
  • For a creamy peanut butter dip, mix a cup of vanilla Greek yogurt with two tablespoons of unsweetened peanut butter.
  • If you want a dip that's ever sweeter, add one tablespoon of maple syrup and serve.

4. Cheddar dip

  • It might sound odd, but the taste of cheddar actually pairs very well with the sweetness of apples. Rather than add a slice of cheddar to your apple, though, consider making a cheddar dip to dip apple slices into.
  • To make a good cheddar dip, simply melt 3/4 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup of white wine over medium heat.
  • Then, add two tablespoons of flour and a tablespoon of Dijon mustard, and stir. Once the ingredients have melted together, the dip is ready to be served.
