Eat your way through Canada’s ultimate food challenges

Holy Chuck Burgers, Toronto

If you’re a burger lover, Holy Chuck Burgers has a food challenge for you. It involves polishing off their Go Chuck Yourself burger, plus the specialty milkshake of your choice, in six minutes. Sounds easy? Not so fast. The burger consists of three grilled cheese sandwiches, six patties, six slices of cheese, triple bacon and caramelized onions. Diners complete challenge get their picture on the restaurant's Wall of Fame as well as a contest t-shirt. If you beat the best time, you even get your burger paid for. Those who fail get their picture on the Wall of Shame.

Moose’s Down Under Bar and Grill, Vancouver

If burgers aren’t your style, check out the Kilo Parmie Challenge. You can find this challenge at Moose’s Down Under Bar and Grill, an Australian restaurant in downtown Vancouver. Here, diners attempt to eat one kilogram of parmie (chicken parmagiana) and a mound of fries in 45 minutes. If you complete the challenge, the meal is free and you win a Moose’s t-shirt. If you fail to complete the challenge, you only need to pay $35 and surrender a bit of your pride.

Law & Orders, Innisville

If you’re in the Ottawa area and feel like you want to test yourself, head to Law & Orders  in Innisville. The restaurant is home to the Rhippo Challenge, which dares you to eat a full pound of poutine and two Rhippo burgers in 20 minutes or less. Each Rhippo burger contains two half-pound patties, double cheese and bacon, so bring your appetite! If you complete the Rhippo Challenge, you get a free Law & Orders t-shirt, and they put your picture on their Hall of Fame. Winners also get their meal for free.

McKibbins Irish Pub, Montreal

Think you can take the heat? Then you may be the perfect candidate for the Rim Reaper Challenge at McKibbin’s Irish Pub in Montreal. For this challenge, participants need to eat 12 Rim Reaper wings within an hour. While 12 chicken wings doesn’t sound like much, the devil is in the details here. And by that we mean heat. Serious heat. These wings are seasoned with the world’s hottest pepper, the ghost pepper, which has a heat factor of more than one million Scoville units. To put that number into perspective, jalapeno peppers have a Scoville rating of 2,500 to 10,000. If you successfully complete the challenge, you get a free t-shirt and your photo goes up on the “Wall of Flame.” Good luck!
