Why not take advantage of your next weekend to visit the British Museum, before hopping over to Amsterdam to discover some of Van Gogh's most beautiful paintings and enter the Guggenheim without having to wait in line!

All of this is made possible by the magic of the Internet and the large number of museums that have been willing to share some of their exhibits.

Here is a small selection of the most beautiful museums in the world.

1. Le Musée d’Orsay – Paris

Avoid the traffic in the 7th arrondissement of Paris to go to the “Musée d'Orsay”, formerly the famous “Palais d'Orsay”.

The Orsay Museum is known to the world for having one of the largest collections of paintings linked to the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist movements.

So all that's left is to go and discover this virtual tour and let yourself wander around of the museum.

2. Van Gogh Museum – Amsterdam

Let's stay in Europe and go to the Netherlands, where Vincent Van Gogh has you written down as a guest in his museum, the Van Gogh Museum, located in Amsterdam.

This museum houses the world’s largest collection dedicated to the Dutch painter, who left his stamp on the 19th century with more than 220 canvases, 500 drawings and 800 letters.

3. British Museum – London

The British Museum is worth a visit if only for its atypical contemporary architecture and its superb circular reading room covered with a dome over 40 meters in diameter.

4. Le Louvre – Paris

5. Guggenheim Museum – New York

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, located on New York's famous 5th Avenue, is renowned for its exhibitions of modern art.

6. National Gallery of Art – Washington DC

The National Gallery of Art, which we recognize by its large portico in neoclassical style and inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, offers us 2 virtual tours. One dedicated to the evolution of fashion between 1740 and 1895 and the second to the Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer.

7. Museum of Fine Arts- Montreal

The MMFA offers daily content on its Facebook page, involving professionals and artists sharing their impressions of works exhibited at the museum. You can also discover videos, including a montage presenting the exhibition "Egyptian Mummies: Past Found, Mysteries Unveiled".

There are still a large number of museums offering virtual tours and many are available through Google’s Arts & Culture platform.
