The Calvinist Cadet Corps is an independent (non-denominational) youth ministry organization whose purpose is to provide the local church with ministry programs that will enable them to effectively share Christ's love with boys from their church and community. Founded in 1952, the Corps has more than 600 clubs throughout North America, a brother organization in Australia and New Zealand, and since 2006 has been working in Kenya and Uganda. We encourage any evangelical Bible believing church to consider using our ministry programs. The organization uses the title 'Calvinist' to honor the Protestant reformer, John Calvin, who devoted his life to the religious education of God's children.
Quinte Therapeutic Riding AssociationWelcome to the Quinte Therapeutic Riding Association! We are located in beautiful Stirling, Ontario, and are the only organization between Port Hope and Kingston devoted exclusively to therapeutic horseback riding. We have students that come from Trenton, Belleville, Stirling, Prince Edward County and many other outlying communities in the South Eastern Ontario area. Our program runs yearround, offering day time and evening lessons in our outdoor riding ring (weather permitting) or heated indoor arena. Our classes are limited to two riders per lesson, providing oneonone riding instruction for students on our quiet ponies and horses. We have up to three volunteers dedicated to each rider depending on their individual needs. This allows for quality, customized instruction and a safe riding experience for each student. We are members of, and our facilities and insurance are provided by, the Canadian Therapeutic Riding Association. We are also members of the Ontario Therapeutic Riding Association.
Thanks to funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation of $13,600 over 12 months, both Flinton and Denbigh Library now offer fax service. The grant has enabled the Township to purchase new print/copy/scan and fax machines for each location, a service not readily available in the area. This funding has also enabled us to complete the update of our computer systems and purchase new 24' monitors for all machines. Updates will also be made to the Large Print, Audio and DVD sections on a regular basis with this funding. The installation of an accessible workstation at the Flinton Library makes both locations fully accessible.'I am pleased to see the Ontario Trillium Foundation's contribution to the improvements at these libraries. Providing access to these communications and information tools at these locations is important and will be a great benefit for many rural residents who may not otherwise have access. I congratulate the team at the Addington Highlands Public Library for their continuing efforts on behalf of local resident
Dragon Boat Club (formerly the Belleville Paddling Club) is one of Belleville's most active sports and recreation clubs.
