Check out our Employment page for available positions.Find us on FacebookWant to keep updated with the latest FHCA news?Who We AreThe purpose of the FHCA is to promote wellness through recreational programs and related activities, as well as to provide volunteer opportunities, for the residents of our community.We are a volunteer organization, working together with the City of Kitchener to provide social and leisure opportunities for the Forest Heights Community and surrounding areas.We are based in the Forest Heights Community Centre (FHCC). The FHCC currently houses a total of five partners: City of Kitchener staff, FHCA, Kitchener Fire Department, Regional Emergency Medical Services, and the Forest Hill T-Ball Association.The FHCA follows the City of Kitchener's guidelines, policies, and procedures with all of its volunteers and participants in all activities.The FHCA relies on community-minded individuals like you to keep programs and events running.
Our Vision is to be a responsive leader committed to promoting social development in Waterloo Region where all people actively participate in finding solutions to improve quality of life.
Our Mission is to advance community through participation and knowledge.
Our Goals:
1. Increase citizen participation in social, economic and political life of the community.
2. Build social cohesion through relationships, collaboration and community action.
3. Increase understanding of social resources, assets, issues, needs and context of the local community by those who need this knowledge to take action.
4. Develop the social infrastructure of the community – people, organizations, services, policy.
5. Reduce inequitable access to knowledge resources particularly those resulting from emerging technologies.
