Little Scholars Child Care was established in 1997 by Sechelt Community Church to meet the needs of the expanding Sechelt community. We now have 40 children ages 30 months to Grade 7 and a dedicated staff of 7. Through much prayer the Lord's provision was seen in generous donations from the Sechelt Community Church, the Provincial Government, the Vancouver Foundation, and the Sunshine Coast Credit Union with which we were able to make the necessary renovations to open the child care and provide two professionally designed play yards. Little Scholars Child Care is a community of children, teachers, support staff and administrators that live by a set of very important attributes called the fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. To keep these attributes, the fruit of the Spirit, in remembrance we have them written with stones in our sidewalk. They remind us daily to focus on building foundations for success - in education, literacy, music, physical, social, and spiritual development. Bargains for everyone

We have the best pool table on Bowen Island, as well as a flat screen TV, which make for great movie watching and multi-player gaming. There are also 2 networked PCs, allowing for music downloads, MSN, Facebook and multi-player gaming. If you have a band or would like to jam with other youth musicians, come down on Thursday's when we get together to play. We have all the equipment needed, just bring a guitar etc. The youth center offers an off island out trip once a mouth ( movies, rock climbing, PNE, and more). If you have any suggestions let us know at the center. If you turn up and want to make something new happen, there are always friendly, fun-loving Youth Workers on hand to help spontaneously facilitate stuff and offer quality advice.
