Shaarey Zedek Synagogue is a centre for Conservative Judaism that welcomes the community to experience spiritual growth, continuing education and the enrichment of lifecycle events. That is a big task, but we're working hard every day to live up to this duty. For millenni,a synagogues have been the place for lifecycle events and a gathering place for communities, and for a time this connection that people once had began to dwindle. 'Synagogues - a place to have your naming, your bar mitzvah, your wedding, your funeral...oh, and High Holy Days of course' many would think and a large number of people still do. Shaarey Zedek regrettably was no exception, but an evolution has taken place in recent years. Synagogue life has been transformed for the young and the old come to reconnect with Judaism in ways they didn't think possible, or simply weren't made possible in the past. Rethought, revised and reignited, our focus has been placed on creating meaningful social-cultural and worship experiences, tailored to suit different generations with different needs
