The Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) is an independent, non-partisan business network. Our mission is to support economic growth in Ontario by advocating for pro-business policies and defending business priorities at Queen's Park.
The Greater Barrie Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to providing advocacy for its members. To this end, we have developed strong working relationships with local government representatives; this allows us to be aware of upcoming government activities that may impact our members. As an independent organization, the Chamber is able to work with government bodies on projects to help businesses, and at the same time challenge them on their topics that may be negatively affecting businesses. Our Governmental Affairs committee is largely responsible for monitoring government activity and making recommendations to the Board of Directors for action or informational purposes. Additionally, we receive updates and support from the provincial and national chambers, both of which have significant influence on government leaders.
