The food tastes good, but it's nothing special. There's not that additional "oomph" to it to make it exceptional. The drinks were standard. I enjoyed the spinach salad, but did not like the French onion soup too much. Also, the soup didn't look good.
The environment is like a standard pub, which is good but nothing special again.
The service was great. My friend broke her glass, and they kindly cleaned the mess quickly without any fuss.

Our shop opened in January 2015 located in the Royal Centre Food Court in downtown Vancouver. We offer a small, carefully chosen selection of fusion dishes made with fresh ingredients and real whole foods influenced by the owners’ roots in the deep southern United States and southern Portugal. The two cultures merge perfectly to create savoury, saucy sandwiches and hearty soups and salads. Our flavours focus on olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and cilantro. Our signature sandwich is the Cheesesteak, made with thinly sliced rib-eye steak, melted cheese, grilled onions, banana peppers, covered in our house sauce or pesto on handmade bread. We also offer lite combo platters that pair any of our delicious salads with our savoury meat options. All of our food comes in completely compostable packaging, cutlery included. We make everything from scratch to create our healthy version of international soul food.
When we opened our doors in 2007 we had a simple goal: to help Vancouverites discover real cheese! Today, we bring an ever-changing variety of handcrafted, artisanal, small production cheeses to Vancouver, celebrating the work of producers and cheese-makers who are as passionate about making cheese as we are about selling it.
les amis du FROMAGE was founded by mother and daughter Alice and Allison Spurrel. They have been in business together since 1985 when they formed their sucessful catering company The Menu Setters. The catering company evolved into The Cheese Shop @ The Menu Setters, and eventually into les amis du FROMAGE as we know and love today.
Since 1979, the iconic Cheshire Cheese Inn has been providing locals and visitors alike with a neighbourly gastro-pub experience. Affectionately called 'The Cheese', our cozy-casual British themed room is abuzz with jovial banter from a great mix of diners & our lovable regulars in the bar.
